VADO carbon and environmental policy

At VADO we have a responsibility to help our consumers on their journey to a water-smart life, and that is why we strive to develop products that are beautifully designed, whilst providing a solution to preserving water and protecting our environment.

Working with THG Eco, who audited our emissions for Financial Year 22/23, we have achieved PAS 2060 certification, which is the BSI standard for Carbon Neutrality. This covers our Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 – Business Travel, emission categories.

In our last financial year, across these categories, we generated the equivalent of 338.12 tonnes of carbon dioxide. We have offset this by purchasing the equivalent number of Carbon Credits. For this, we have chosen a project based in Mexico, which distributed energy-efficient light bulbs to 5.7 million households across the country*.

We will continue to log and report our emissions and then offset any excess emissions where necessary.

We are also working on identifying and reducing our full range of Scope 3 emissions.

* The Project, which was known in Mexico as Luz Sustentable, distributed energy efficient lights to 5.725 million households across Mexico during 2011 and 2012. Its aim was to cut carbon emissions, reduce poverty and help to deliver energy security to Mexico. It was estimated to reduce Mexico’s carbon emissions by 6.8 Million tonnes and householders would save approximately US$1.1 Billion on energy bills.
