INTRODUCING THE
DOUBLE CHECK VALVE
Our WRAS approved Double Check Valve has been specifically designed for easy installation and protects public water supplies from contamination.
WATER SUPPLY REGULATIONS COMPLIANT
Water systems are required to comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Part of this condition is applied to stop contamination to the public water supplies. Every fitting therefore, should contain adequate means for preventing the backflow of potentially contaminated fluid into the water supply.
The risk from backflow at any particular outlet is assessed in terms of fluid categories – the least serious being fluid category 1 and the worst being fluid category 5.
Water in domestic shower tray or bath tubs is classed as fluid category 3. If the hose can reach this zone, the outlet must have an adequate device fitted such as a type ED double check valve to prevent backflow.

EXPOSED DESIGN FOR EASY INSTALLATION
Double check valves are frequently fitted into concealed pipework to achieve compliance making them difficult to fit retrospectively. Our exposed design is intended to be fitted after installation to give appropriate backflow prevention up to fluid category 3 risk, while making it easier to connect with visible fittings.
Designed to fit conveniently between the shower outlet and hose, the double check valve prevents back siphonage where the shower head has the potential to be submerged into a bath of water, shower tray or other equally rated fluid category appliance.
IMPROVES THE SHOWERING EXPERIENCE
The double check valve allows the handset to be fitted with a regular length hose so the user can have full freedom and flexibility when showering, compared to having to install a short hose to prevent the handset contacting the used water.
